Since July 2019, Shanghai has taken the lead in the country in implementing mandatory household waste classification. Songjiang, Jinshan, Jiading and other six wet waste projects identified in the "13th Five-Year Plan" are required to be completed and put into operation by 2020. While the centralized disposal capacity of wet waste is further improved, the capacity target of 7000t/d is expected to be completed by the end of the year through the effective supplement of local and nearby disposal capacity.

The Songjiang District wet waste recycling project is located in the north of Shanghai Tianma Incineration Plant and the west of Qingtian Road, Songjiang District, serving the wet waste treatment of Songjiang District. The total treatment scale of the project is: wet waste 500t/d (including catering waste 150t/d, kitchen waste 350t/d); Overload capacity of each processing line is 120%; Waste edible oil: 30t/d.
At present, the equipment installation of the wet waste resource treatment project in Songjiang District has been basically completed, and the final work is being carried out. Food and beverage waste pretreatment adopts the process of "automatic sorting + heating pulping and solid-liquid separation + sand removal + oil recovery and purification", and food waste pretreatment adopts the process of "mechanical pretreatment + biohydrolysis + sand removal and impurity removal". Food and beverage waste disposal system, kitchen waste disposal system has entered the debugging stage, each system is running normally.
In response to the national sustainable development strategy, the project takes maximizing resource utilization and minimizing pollution emission as the main line, integrates clean production, comprehensive utilization of resources, ecological design and sustainable consumption, and realizes the resource, harmless and reduced treatment of wet waste through the combined process of "mechanical pretreatment + combined wet anaerobic".
After pretreatment, the debris in the waste is sorted out and recycled or incinerated according to its quality, and the organic matter and crude oil in the waste are recovered to the maximum extent. Biogas is produced by efficient anaerobic digestion of organic matter, and energy is generated by turning waste into treasure. The crude oil can be sold to qualified downstream deep-processing enterprises for biodiesel production or as chemical raw materials.
The standardized collection and treatment of wet garbage can effectively curb the food residues into the hands of illegal traders, put an end to the "waste oil" and "hogwash pig" and other seriously affect food safety chaos, and ensure the health and safety of the people. At the same time, the project is equipped with reliable sewage and odor collection and treatment facilities to ensure that all environmental indicators are up to standard and the impact on the surrounding environment is reduced to a minimum.
Songjiang District wet waste resource treatment project, with its advanced technology, environmental protection standards, safety and health, reliable operation, economical and applicable characteristics, as a domestic first-class and international advanced wet waste treatment plant, provides a solid guarantee for Shanghai's wet waste treatment.
